Chelsea wasted money in buying wrong players in the last transfer window.

Chelsea spent over or close to £300 million on recruiting new players. They had lost Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid, Timo Werner to RB Leipzig, both Christensen and Marcos Alonso to Barcelona and they needed to find their replacement. Chelsea then brought Fofana, Koulibaly, and Marc Cucurella to replace their gone defenders. But it seems the Blues did wrong recruits with the players they bought. This article explains this assertion further.

Chelsea had the chance to use their academic graduate, Trevor Chalobah but continued to splash huge sums worth €85m on Wesley Fofana from Leicester City.

Indeed, they needed to replace those gone ones, but looking at this team, a creative midfielder is something that the team lacks. This team just looks strong when the French international, N’Golo Kante is available but now out with injury.

Common Mistakes from the London club.

There hasn’t been any difference in buying Cucurella for an amount of €65m, but sold Emerson Palmeire for just €13m to West Ham. Again, Sold Timo Werner for €20m to sign the former City player, Raheem Sterling. The thing to keep Rudiger was to increase his salary but bought Kalidou Koulibaly instead for €40m.

They also doubted the abilities of Jules Kounde in the English Premier League and also missed on signing Raphinha. Could you believe buying Lukaku for £100m but sold Olivier Giroud for as little as £1m.

Results after the £300.

Even without this huge investment, the Blues won against Southampton 6-0 in the 2021/2022 season but trailed by them in a 2-1 defeat this year.
On both home and away grounds, Tottenham lost to Chelsea but drew them this season (Best performance from Blue lads this season).

Again, won some couples of good games in the UEFA Champions League.

Who should be blamed for Chelsea’s woes now?

More of the Chelsea fans are now calling for Todd to call Thomas Tuchel back to the black. However, it is a just treatment to Potter? At least, there should be a little patience for Potter to build his team.
